After graduating from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, I attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, did an internship in Chicago, Illinois, and then finished my final year of seminary at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

I was ordained in 1967 and served parishes in Washington D.C., Baltimore, Maryland, Chicago. In 1983 we moved to Portland, Oregon, where I served Trinity in Longview (interim), King of Kings in Milwaukie, and Bethlehem in Portland.

In the early 1970's I worked for a university and public planning agency in Minnesota for several years. Currently I operate an Internet hosting service, am developing an online magazine for the Puget Sound region, and am working to develop the Public Theology website.

My wife and I have three adult children, four grandchildren, and now live in Gig Harbor, Washington, in the Seattle-Tacoma area. We enjoy boating on the spectacular waters of the Puget Sound.
